Sleep Hygiene In Danbury CT: Providing a Resource to Prompt and Initiate Behavior Change

    Get PDF
Sleeplessness is a problem encountered frequently in the primary care setting, and often is inappropriately addressed by prescribing pharmacological intervention for indefinite periods of time. This project sought to promote behavioral intervention strategies modeled after CBT-I to address sleep hygiene in patients struggling with their sleep.https://scholarworks.uvm.edu/fmclerk/1363/thumbnail.jp

Higher Cluster Categories and QFT Dualities

We present a unified mathematical framework that elegantly describes minimally SUSY gauge theories in even dimension, ranging from 6d6d to 0d0d, and their dualities. This approach combines recent developments on graded quiver with potentials, higher Ginzburg algebras and higher cluster categories (also known as mm-cluster categories). Quiver mutations studied in the context of mathematics precisely correspond to the order (m+1)(m+1) dualities of the gauge theories. Our work suggests that these equivalences of quiver gauge theories sit inside an infinite family of such generalized dualities, whose physical interpretation is yet to be understood.Comment: 61 pages, 30 figure

    Charting Class Sk{\cal S}_k Territory

We extend the investigation of the recently introduced class Sk{\cal S}_k of 4d N=1\mathcal{N}=1 SCFTs, by considering a large family of quiver gauge theories within it, which we denote Sk1\mathcal{S}^1_k. These theories admit a realization in terms of Zk\mathbb{Z}_k orbifolds of Type IIA configurations of D4-branes stretched among relatively rotated sets of NS-branes. This fact permits a systematic investigation of the full family, which exhibits new features such as non-trivial anomalous dimensions differing from free field values and novel ways of gluing theories. We relate these ingredients to properties of compactification of the 6d (1,0) superconformal TNk{\cal T}_N^k theories on spheres with different kinds of punctures. We describe the structure of dualities in this class of theories upon exchange of punctures, including transformations that correspond to Seiberg dualities, and exploit the computation of the superconformal index to check the invariance of the theories under them.Comment: 44 pages, 24 figure

Graded quivers and B-branes at Calabi-Yau singularities

A graded quiver with superpotential is a quiver whose arrows are assigned degrees c∈{0,1,⋯ ,m}c\in \{0, 1, \cdots, m\}, for some integer m≥0m \geq 0, with relations generated by a superpotential of degree m−1m-1. Ordinary quivers (m=1)m=1) often describe the open string sector of D-brane systems; in particular, they capture the physics of D3-branes at local Calabi-Yau (CY) 3-fold singularities in type IIB string theory, in the guise of 4d N=1\mathcal{N}=1 supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. It was pointed out recently that graded quivers with m=2m=2 and m=3m=3 similarly describe systems of D-branes at CY 4-fold and 5-fold singularities, as 2d N=(0,2)\mathcal{N}=(0,2) and 0d N=1\mathcal{N}=1 gauge theories, respectively. In this work, we further explore the correspondence between mm-graded quivers with superpotential, Q(m)Q_{(m)}, and CY (m+2)(m+2)-fold singularities, Xm+2{\mathbf X}_{m+2}. For any mm, the open string sector of the topological B-model on Xm+2{\mathbf X}_{m+2} can be described in terms of a graded quiver. We illustrate this correspondence explicitly with a few infinite families of toric singularities indexed by m∈Nm \in \mathbb{N}, for which we derive "toric" graded quivers associated to the geometry, using several complementary perspectives. Many interesting aspects of supersymmetric quiver gauge theories can be formally extended to any mm; for instance, for one family of singularities, dubbed C(Y1,0(Pm))C(Y^{1,0}(\mathbb{P}^m)), that generalizes the conifold singularity to m>1m>1, we point out the existence of a formal "duality cascade" for the corresponding graded quivers.Comment: 82 pages, 20 figure

A Comprehensive Survey of Brane Tilings

An infinite class of 4d4d N=1\mathcal{N}=1 gauge theories can be engineered on the worldvolume of D3-branes probing toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds. This kind of setup has multiple applications, ranging from the gauge/gravity correspondence to local model building in string phenomenology. Brane tilings fully encode the gauge theories on the D3-branes and have substantially simplified their connection to the probed geometries. The purpose of this paper is to push the boundaries of computation and to produce as comprehensive a database of brane tilings as possible. We develop efficient implementations of brane tiling tools particularly suited for this search. We present the first complete classification of toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds with toric diagrams up to area 8 and the corresponding brane tilings. This classification is of interest to both physicists and mathematicians alike.Comment: 39 pages. Link to Mathematica modules provide

Stratifying On-Shell Cluster Varieties: the Geometry of Non-Planar On-Shell Diagrams

The correspondence between on-shell diagrams in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and cluster varieties in the Grassmannian remains largely unexplored beyond the planar limit. In this article, we describe a systematic program to survey such 'on-shell varieties', and use this to provide a complete classification in the case of G(3,6)G(3,6). In particular, we find exactly 24 top-dimensional varieties and 10 co-dimension one varieties in G(3,6)G(3,6)---up to parity and relabeling of the external legs. We use this case to illustrate some of the novelties found for non-planar varieties relative to the case of positroids, and describe some of the features that we expect to hold more generally.Comment: 35 pages, 70 figures, and 1 table; also included is a file with explicit details for our classification.
